Welcome to The Best of Netflix comparison of Netflix to Amazon Prime!
Many people ask what streaming service they should choose and we work to provide unbiased reviews of each company’s offerings.
Netflix vs. Amazon Prime:
Amazon Prime is probably the closest thing Netflix has when it comes to competition in the sheer quantity of titles available for instant stream. It’s a bit of a wash here, as both services have a ridiculous amount of content available.
However, Netflix gets the nod here as they have beaten Amazon Prime to the punch when it comes to original series content.
While Netflix is about to change it’s pricing structure, it is currently $7.99 a month in the US.
Amazon Prime is $79 annually, or about $6.50 a month.
Winner: Amazon Prime
Both Netflix and Amazon Prime have apps compatible with a lot of devices, but Netflix has done a better job of integrating with them, including TV and Blu-Ray players. While the design might be a personal preference, Netflix’s UI just seems cleaner and themed better than Amazon’s.
Netflix also has a much superior recommendation algorithm that offers users a better experience in trying to find content they would enjoy. Amazon Prime has major shortages in this area.
The X Factor
One of the biggest benefits of Amazon Prime is that it also comes with a variety of great Amazon services like free, fast shipping on all orders, certainly worth it for those of us who order from the site frequently.
And for Netflix, certainly it goes without saying their original content is some of the best out there, competing even with the likes of HBO and other premium channels.
