Netflix has announced this morning that their newest original content is in the works. ‘Grace and Frankie’ will start Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin in what has been described as a new comedy series.
According to Engadget, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos, has called it “anything but wholesome” so we’re expecting the tones of comedy to fall in line with Fonda and Tomlin’s previous work ‘9 to 5,’ a raunchy comedy from the 1980s.
It will be interesting to see what the target audience is for a show like this. Is Netflix perhaps targeting an older audience in an attempt to on board the generation ahead of the current Netflix persona? The data here would probably line up, it will be interesting to see if it works.
No trailer yet, we’ll make sure to update this article as info is released.
